Faithful Stewardship

In Luke 6:38, Jesus said, “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom.  For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."

Interestingly, this passage, though easily applied to the area of giving one’s money, says nothing about money.  Jesus is simply giving us a Biblical principle that God rewards giving, no matter what you may be giving.  This truth is echoed in Galatians 6:7-8, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.  For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

I must commend those of you who attend SouthPoint Church for your faithfulness in giving.  Because of your sacrificial and systematic giving, we have been able to meet all our financial obligations and have had enough money to give outside of our church.

Thanks to your obedience, SouthPoint Church will be able to support…

ü      The Southern Baptist Co-Operative Plan,

ü      The Metro Columbus Baptist Association,

ü      Fusion Ministries in Queretaro, Mexico,

ü      City of Refuge Baptist Church - (A New Church Plant in Columbus), and

ü      Other trustworthy ministries.

Thank you so much for allowing me to reach out to the lost, to feed the flock of God, and to minister to the needs of the congregation without having to worry (which would be a sin, of course) about money.  I am certain each of you could give testimony of how the Lord has blessed you and your family for your faithfulness.

Please continue down this path of blessing and I know God will continue to bless you, your family, and our church.  “Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.”  (1 Cor. 4:2)

Have a blessed day.
